Background
Directed by BAFTA award-winner Georgina Cammalleri “Right to Fight” tells the powerful, untold story of the pioneers who paved the way for professional women’s boxing. The documentary highlights the determination and sacrifices they made inside and outside the ring to overcome the odds and become the first women issued with professional boxing licenses. I explored several styles and creative directions in an attempt to distill the social and sporting prejudices of the time into a single core image. Crucially the concept needed to work at both large and small scales. It is displayed digitally on the NOW TV platform as well as being used in printed form to promote the documentary at Sheffield Docfest.
